This was shot while I was on my first river cruise down the River Elbe with my mom. I remember buying my first DSLR, a Canon XTi, in 2006 on our first family international trip to London and Paris. Since then, I remember buying photography books and trying to learn everything I could about photography to get ready for this trip. Each city we stopped to was amazing and a city or town you wouldn’t really think to go to, as they were all small towns or cities along the river. Dresden was unique, in that much of the city was destroyed in the bombings in 1945, and listening about the rich history and knowing that most were just finished a few years before. Frauenkirche was breath taking, having been a war memorial for 50 years before getting rebuilt from 1994 and completed on October 30, 2005, less than 2 years before we were able to enjoy the beautiful reconstruction.
