Journey Behind the Print (A Note from Amanda)

This was shot on August 8, 2007 while I was on my first river cruise down the River Elbe with my mom. I remember buying my first DSLR, a Canon XTi, in 2006 on our first family international trip to London and Paris. Since then, I remember buying photography books and trying to learn everything I could about photography to get ready for this trip. Each city we stopped to was amazing and a city or town you wouldn’t really think to go to, as they were all small towns or cities along the river. You’ll often find me not with the tour group, but off ducking into nooks and finding these peaceful places. I’m also the one who waits for everyone to leave to try to capture a shot with no people in, sometimes not possible. The beauty of tours, you don’t have to worry about finding the key tourist areas, and everything is just planned for you. It’s just up to you to embrace the beauty around you. You’ll also notice I love archways, doors, windows, and how they are the same yet different where ever you go.
