What's in Frame

The Frauenkirche (“Church of Our Lady”) is a Lutheran church in Dresden, Germany. It is one of the most famous landmarks in the city and a symbol of the city's history and resilience. The original church was destroyed during World War II, but it was rebuilt between 1994 and 2005. The rebuilt church is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and features a beautiful dome and stained glass windows.

Journey Behind the Print (A Note from Amanda)

This was shot while I was on my first river cruise down the River Elbe with my mom. I remember buying my first DSLR, a Canon XTi, in 2006 on our first family international trip to London and Paris. Since then, I remember buying photography books and trying to learn everything I could about photography to get ready for this trip. Each city we stopped to was amazing and a city or town you wouldn’t really think to go to, as they were all small towns or cities along the river. Dresden was unique, in that much of the city was destroyed in the bombings in 1945, and listening about the rich history and knowing that most were just finished a few years before.  Frauenkirche was breath taking, having been a war memorial for 50 years before getting rebuilt from 1994 and completed on October 30, 2005, less than 2 years before we were able to enjoy the beautiful reconstruction. Fuji Matt Photo Paper

This archival photo paper is coated with a slightly stippled texture giving it a very natural photographic finish with subtle color. This paper has a slight sheen to it making it less reflective while still maintaining its sharpness. This paper was hand-selected for its versatility and available for all our prints and travel posters.

Satin Pearl

Hahnemühle Pearl Fine Art Paper

This Giclée fine art paper has a smooth orange peel texture and resin coating which creates a fibrous feel and satin-like finish. The paper creates natural black and white images and gives the image the feel of an oil painting. This is our hand-selected premium paper for our black & white prints.

Frame Details

Mats

Mat’s are cut from acid free cardboard. They are 1400 micron which is 1.4mm in thickness. The window is cut to an angle of 45°

Window Mount Color: White

Hanging Fixtures

The hanging type fixture on the reverse panel is ‘Nail hanging’. Most frames are equipped with hangers in portrait and landscape format.

Glass Materials

The majority of the frame windows are made of edge-ground float glass with a UV filter of approx. 45%. The frames are also equipped with an acid-free insert and a sturdy rear panel.

Frame Materials & Colors

Nielsen Quadrum picture frames are made in Germany from FSC®-certified wood. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests that meet the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council. The Oak frames are solid wood from FSC®-certified sources with an Oak veneer.
