The Amanda Mei Studio Standards & Editioning Guide

he following standards govern the production, documentation, and release of all work by Amanda Mei Studio. These terms are established to protect the integrity of the work and the long-term interests of the collector.

I. Studio Standards: The Quality Guarantee

We offer two distinct standards of production to ensure every collector finds the right balance of craftsmanship and efficiency.

II. Studio Selects vs. Studio Reserve

• Studio Reserve: Our highest standard of craftsmanship. Every piece in the Reserve standard travels to my studio for a personal quality inspection. This tier typically encompasses our most prestigious finishes—such as Acrylic Face-Mounts and Double-Matted presentations—as well as specialized collector editions of books and portfolios. These works represent the artist-touched core of the brand. Due to the personal handling and hand-authentication involved, please allow 10–30 business days for fulfillment.
• Studio Selects: Curated, professional-grade imagery and lifestyle goods with a focus on production excellence and speed. These pieces are dispatched directly from our specialized production partners to reach you as quickly as possible. This standard is ideal for items such as archival luster prints, studio notebooks, and premium apparel, allowing you to enjoy "Studio Original" designs without the extended studio authentication queue. Most Selects ship within 3–7 business days.

III. Editioning Structures: Scarcity & Value

Every collection is clearly marked with its specific editioning structure at the time of release to ensure absolute transparency.

1. Limited Editions (Studio Reserve Exclusive)

Most fine art collections utilize a strict limited edition model to ensure long-term scarcity. Limited Editions are exclusive to the Studio Reserve standard. They are personally hand-signed and include a Certificate of Authenticity.

• Split Editions (Size-Specific): Quantities are fixed per size. Once a size sells out, it is never reproduced in that format again.
• Split Editions (Medium-Specific): Editions may be limited by material (e.g., 50 Acrylics vs. 100 Paper Prints).
• Master Editions (Image-Specific): A single, unified limit is set for the image across all physical sizes and mediums.

2. Artist Proofs (AP)

Reserved for limited collections (typically 10% or less). Known as the "Gold Standard," these are the master impressions used by the artist to vet color and detail. They are hand-signed, numbered, and carry a premium due to their technical and archival significance.

3. Open Editions (Reserve or Selects)

Open Editions have no set printing limit and are designed for versatile collecting.

• Open Reserve: Includes a personal studio inspection and premium finishing (Acrylic/Matted), but is not numbered or accompanied by a COA.
• Open Selects: Professional archival prints and lifestyle goods fulfilled directly from our partners for maximum efficiency.

4. Trial Proofs & Studio Artifacts

One-of-a-kind "working drafts" produced during the creative process. Documented as unique Studio Artifacts, these are historical markers of the artist’s journey and are not part of any numbered edition.

5. Studio Seconds

Pieces with minor character marks that fall just outside our gallery-grade standards. We offer these as part of our zero-waste practice, providing an accessible entry point into the collection. Please note: All Studio Seconds are final sale and sold as-is.

III. Future Evolution

As the Studio evolves, these terms may be updated to reflect new mediums or release strategies. However, the edition limits set at the time of a print’s initial purchase are permanent and irrevocable. Collectors can invest with confidence, knowing the scarcity of their specific piece is protected.
