What's in Frame

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a famous bell tower in Pisa, Italy. Construction began in 1173, but the tower started leaning shortly after the third floor was completed due to unstable ground. Construction was halted several times to allow the ground to settle. Despite the initial setback, the tower was eventually completed in the 14th century. It's a remarkable feat of engineering and a popular tourist attraction, drawing about 5 million visitors a year from around the world to marvel at its unique tilt.

Journey Behind the Print (A Note from Amanda)

This was shot on my college / university graduation trip, which I chose to do instead of walking the stage. This family trip of a tour around Italy was full of many memories, and of course seeing the leaning tower of Pisa was one of the many highlights. We spent time taking the obligatory photo holding it from falling, and checking out the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles) including the Duomo.
