What's In Frame

The Jungfrau is a majestic mountain peak in the Bernese Alps, known for its stunning beauty and challenging climbs. It's part of a trio of peaks, along with the Eiger and Mönch, that form a dramatic wall of rock and ice. The Jungfraujoch, a railway station at the top of a mountain pass, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps and the Aletsch Glacier.

Journey Behind the Print (A Note from Amanda)

This trip is one of my all time favorites, when people ask me where is my favorite place I’ve been, Switzerland has always been on that list. This was another tour but around all of Switzerland. Switzerland isn’t short of stunning vistas and views, but if there’s one that’s extremely popular, even to this day, it’s the train ride up to the Jungfraujoch, or Top of Europe. This shot was at the train station of Eigergletscher on the Eiger Express. I remember opening up the window, and leaning out to snap this photo of the mountains and sea of clouds and the reflection in the train window.

This archival photo paper is coated with a slightly stippled texture giving it a very natural photographic finish with subtle color. This paper has a slight sheen to it making it less reflective while still maintaining its sharpness. This paper was hand-selected for its versatility and available for all our prints and travel posters.

Satin Pearl

Hahnemühle Pearl Fine Art Paper

This Giclée fine art paper has a smooth orange peel texture and resin coating which creates a fibrous feel and satin-like finish. The paper creates natural black and white images and gives the image the feel of an oil painting. This is our hand-selected premium paper for our black & white prints.

Mats

Mat’s are cut from acid free cardboard. They are 1400 micron which is 1.4mm in thickness. The window is cut to an angle of 45°

Hanging Fixtures

The hanging type fixture on the reverse panel is ‘Nail hanging’. Most frames are equipped with hangers in portrait and landscape format.

Glass Materials

The majority of the frame windows are made of edge-ground float glass with a UV filter of approx. 45%. The frames are also equipped with an acid-free insert and a sturdy rear panel.

Nielsen Quadrum picture frames are made in Germany from FSC®-certified wood. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests that meet the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council. The Oak frames are solid wood from FSC®-certified sources with an Oak veneer.
